Egham & District Choral Society was founded in 1953 by Dr Kenneth Pankhurst, who was at the time the Organist at Egham Parish Church, and first met on November the 5th. We understand that the first performance was on the 8th of December in the Old Egham Methodist Church.
The stated object of the choir since its inception in 1953 is to rehearse and perform choral music aiming to give 2 or 3 concerts a year, at least one being with a full symphony orchestra.
Season Tickets are now available.
The season ticket price will be £25 to cover all Egham Choral concerts this year (2008) This shows a reduction of £5 over the price of tickets bought individually as well as protecting against any increases during the year.
'Friends' of the choir ensure, through their financial support, that we can continue to bring high class choral music to the Egham area. For an annual fee of £50 you will receive entry to all public concerts and also have the opportunity to purchase a second ticket at half price. Also you will be guaranteed seats for all our concerts and the opportunity to participate in other musical and social events organised by the choir. Your name will also appear in all our programmes. The evening will end with our traditional take on the last night of the Proms singalong in which you are welcome to participate.

Egham & District Choral Society is seeking new singing members, particularly Tenors and Basses. All musical abilities welcome. Come along to join in the singing and chat to choir members; you will be made most welcome. We perform four main concerts each year ranging from major choral works to light entertainment and carols, rehearsing on Monday evenings from 7.30pm till 9.30pm in the United Church of Egham.
